Located prominently facing the Public Garden, this stately pair of brownstones on Arlington Street was renovated top to bottom for modern use by Embarc while maintaining timeless and traditional elements. A complete gut, Embarc was able to reimagine these iconic Boston townhomes into a modern office building for our clients’ private equity firm and family office. The literal and symbolic heart of the project is the grand stair at the center of the building. Rising from the parlor level to the very top of the building, the stair is a visual and social connection for the occupants culminating in a filigreed skylight.
Elegant and functional amenities are in abundance; from the automated subterranean parking system to the tree-top deck inset into the existing mansard roof. Taking cues from our clients’ European and American sensibilities, the grand stair and skylight reference Parisian ironwork while the conference rooms are solidly in the tradition of early American living spaces. Overlooking no detail, Embarc detailed custom trim, and millwork and outfitted each space with bespoke soft seating and functional casework, comfort-testing each piece.
Truly a collaboration between a discerning client and our talented team of designers both technical and creative, our Arlington Street project reflects Embarc’s adept skill and keen eye.
