Named after Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, 147 Kent Street explores the use of fundamental De Stijl forms in its volumetric expression. Using asymmetric articulation of squares and rectangles, the massing and window configuration along Kent Street seek to permit maximum daylight into the building’s living spaces. Vertically oriented cedar wood clads the building at deck locations and gives visual distinction to the stucco frames that characterize the project.
