Located in a transitioning post-industrial neighborhood and adjacent to the natural expanses Arnold Arboretum, this six-story multi-family rental housing development features 230 state-of-the-art apartment units.
The building will feature a diverse range of amenity spaces for varied interests, including coworking, lounges, fitness, and a rooftop social lounge with stunning views overlooking the Boston skyline. These spaces will be linked by a cascading open staircase connecting residents to a new 5,000-square-foot public plaza that serves as an urban oasis at Arboretum Road.
The base of the building features masonry that will connect in tone and texture to the Arboretum’s stone walls. The two primary materials of the upper levels consist of a wide-format lap siding complimented by a textured steel corrugation. These two materials play off each other, the large-format lap siding reading horizontally with a warm color palette, the metal featuring a vertical orientation, and neutral tones reminiscent of the past industrial use of the site. Wood tones complete the composition by highlighting the amenity. The color palette of the building materials was influenced by the natural tones of the nearby Arnold Arboretum.
